I approve of this topic.

I've owned literally every Total War game ever made, and I liked most of them. (Shogun 2 was pretty bad imo though..)

Big fan of the series also (didn't like Shogun 2 much though either). Must say Rome 2 looks fantastic.

I thought shogun 2 was kickass until the last part (you all know what i'm talking about)

Rome TW stands out as one of the most perfect games I've ever played, Rome 2 TW makes me so wet.

For UK people at least the Steam pre-order is currently discounted from £44.99 down to £29.99. Probably won't get a better price for at least up to and 6 months after release.

2 more videos released today, in the style of 'Let's Play...'.

1. Campaign map and faction + family selection

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q0GA_jDYfEs

2. Battle of the nile (again, see above), but from the more epic Roman view, the javelin/pilum + arrow animations are bad but they'll be changed before release apparently

That "girl" has had her teeth whitened...

Also I approve of the campaign map, as I play on that one 90% of the time anyway (does anyone else remember the Geisha-win-rape-tactic in the first Shogun:Total War? You never needed to fight except at the very start, then turtle up, build a Geisha house, and just go around the map with her, assassinate all the leaders with a near 100% chance so all of Japan turns into barbaric micro-states, only leaving yourself and thus wining the game? Working as intended I believe :P)

I remember in the original Shogun instead of having a turn limit (I think it had those also, though) at a certain point it was just almost guaranteed that everyone's ruling house would die out and the game would end by default.

I also spend 95% of my time on the campaign map as I love the stragetic aspect. I know the fighting is cool, but my circle everything & charge never seems to work :)
MILF muzak :somuchpony:
Hexfalion: stupid boattruck
ELA Riald: What the fuck is a boattruck?
Yornic: It's a banana that's shaped like a cheesepuff that tastes like motor oil

I tend to overcompensate with Archers. Snipe all the things, except when the enemy brings Cavalry, then I am fucked. :P

just over 1 week to go and we've got 2 new videos:

1. Naval warfare showcasing Barbarian warships, multiple boarding and (a lot of) ramming

2. Multiplayer info and battle (you can click anywhere on the world map for a quick match and it will generate a map based on that area)

n.b. Brace yourself for some serious sexual tension ;)
